Celebrating Student Success: Graduation Rates Lead the Way

The latest graduation data is in — and it confirms what our community already knows: Summit School District (SSD) is delivering on our promise of academic and personal success for every student. Once again, our students are graduating at rates well above the state average, and more importantly, they’re doing so with the support and skills needed to thrive beyond high school.

Graduation Rates That Lead the State

Summit School District has consistently outperformed Colorado’s statewide average in both 4-year and 5-year graduation rates across multiple years:

4-Year Graduation Rates – All Students

  • 2024–2025: 91.6% (State: 85.6%)
  • 2023–2024: 90.3% (State: 84.2%)
  • 2022–2023: 90.8% (State: 83.1%)

Key Takeaway: SSD consistently exceeds state performance by 6–8+ percentage points every year.

5-Year Graduation & Completion Rates – All Students (2023–2024*)

  • 5-Year Graduation Rate: 95.8% (State: 87.8%)
  • 5-Year Completion Rate: 97.7% (State: 89.7%)

Key Takeaway: Nearly every student in SSD completes high school when given time, support, and personalized pathways.

It’s More Than Just a Diploma

Our graduation rates aren’t just about crossing the finish line. They reflect deep, sustained investments in each student’s journey—from high-quality literacy instruction and dual-language opportunities to career and college readiness programs starting in 5th grade. With intentional support from teachers, counselors, and community partners, students are thriving not just academically, but as individuals.

Equity in Action

We’re proud to share that Summit's strong results extend across student groups, affirming our commitment to equitable outcomes for all:

  • Students with Disabilities (4-Year): 96.2% (State: 74.0%)
  • Multilingual Learners (5-Year): 94.9% (State: 77.9%)
  • Hispanic Students (5-Year): 94.8% (State: 82.5%)
  • White Students (4-Year): >98% (State: 90.0%)

These numbers show what’s possible when we meet students where they are, celebrate their identities, and support their growth over time.

Graduation is a Journey, Not a Deadline

While we celebrate strong 4-year graduation rates, we also recognize that success doesn’t always follow a traditional timeline. Some students, particularly Multilingual Learners and Hispanic students, saw short-term dips in 4-year rates in 2024–2025. But here’s the full picture:

  • Multilingual Learners:
    • 4-Year: 75.7%
    • 5-Year: 94.9% (2023–2024*)
  • Hispanic Students:
    • 4-Year: 84.3%
    • 5-Year: 94.8% (2023–2024*)

*5-year rate for 2024-25 is not available until the end of this current school year (25-26)

These students overwhelmingly graduate in their fifth year, and their success speaks to the strength of our systems—not just the speed of completion. In SSD, we’re not just graduating students—we’re preparing them for what’s next.

Every Student. Every Pathway. Every Success.

These graduation outcomes reflect the achievements of students across our district—at both Summit High School and Snowy Peaks—where learners pursue rigorous, relevant, and personalized pathways to success. Every diploma earned is more than a credential; it represents a student who has been supported, challenged, and inspired to find purpose and possibility in their journey.

This is the heart of our vision: Every Student. Every Pathway. Every Success. From International Baccalaureate and Career & Technical Education to dual language immersion, social-emotional learning, and flexible alternative programs, Summit School District offers multiple avenues for students to thrive. We are proud to celebrate these milestones alongside our families, educators, and community partners. Thank you for believing in our students—and in the enduring value of public education.
